This Saturday, May 4, is Fiesta Night at the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway with the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds ($1,500 to win), USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods ($1,000 to win), USRA Hobby Stocks ($700 to win) and USRA Tuners ($500 to win). Jerry Goebel State Farm Super Late Models will be racing for $2,000 to win

Don't forget, it's Fiesta Night with tacos and queso, plus imporet beer specials from 6-7 p.m.

The pits open at 4 p.m. and grandstands open at 5. For competitors, draw closes at 5:45 and the drivers meeting begins at 6. Hot laps are set for 6:15 with racing at 6:40 or immediately following hot laps.

With one night of racing in the books this season and based on their opening-night wins, the points leaders are Lucas Schott of Chatfield, Minn. (USRA Modifieds), of Fort Dodge (USRA Stock Cars), Ty Griffith of Webster City (USRA B-Mods), Chris Hovden of Cresco (USRA Hobby Stocks) and Oliver Monson of Thornton (USRA Tuners).

It's just the beginning of an exciting slate of events in 2024 at the historic clay oval in Webster City, Iowa.

Saturday, May 11 - Renegade High Roller Series featuring 410 winged and non-winged Sprint Cars, along with USRA Modifieds ($1,500 to win), USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods ($1,000 to win) and USRA Hobby Stocks ($700 to win).

Saturday, May 18 - Salute the Troops with free admission for all active and retired military (with ID) and Cram the Stands Night for the Kevin Cram family with USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and USRA Tuners all racing for great money.

Wednesday, May 22 - The Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt comes to town for the first race in the Collins Brothers North Region presented by Featherlite that will feature a $10,000 champion in the 19-race regional schedule. This new track should produce an even better race than it did last year. The Summit USMTS Modifieds will pay $3,000 to win and $450 to start the main event.

Thursday, May 30 - The first Thursday Night Thunder show of 2024 with Jerry Goebel State Farm Super Late Models racing for $2,000 to win, along with the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds ($1,500 to win), USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods ($1,000 to win), USRA Hobby Stocks ($700 to win) and USRA Tuners ($500 to win). Hot laps begin at 7:10 p.m. with racing at 7:30. The goal every Thursday is to have the last checkered flag wave before 10.

Thursday, June 25 - World of Outlaws Late Model Series Showdown with $10,000 to win on the line. It’ll be the third time the series battles at the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway where Billy Moyer scored the win in 1989 and Brian Shirley won in 2016.

Thursday, July 25 - Hamilton County Fair featuring 410 Sprint Cars, 305 Sprint Cars and one Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series class to be announced.

About Hamilton County Speedway: Opening in July 1910, the Hamilton County Speedway is the oldest speedway in the state of Iowa. In 1938, work began on the current location at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The semi-banked half-mile dirt track was completed in the spring of 1939, and the first races were held on the track in September of that year.

The racetrack is located off US 20 at exit 140, then 1.2 miles north, then 0.5 mile east on Bank St., then 0.4 mile south to 1200 Bluff St, Webster City, IA 50595 (at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds).
