USRA Heartland Modified Tour makes first visit to Lucas Oil Speedway this Saturday

The region's top USRA Modified talent will be on display Saturday night when the new USRA Heartland Modified Tour presented by Real Racing Wheels makes its first visit to Lucas Oil Speedway.

The $2,000-to-win main event for the Modifieds headlines the Big Adventure RV Weekly Championship Series action as all mothers will be admitted free, courtesy of Vietti Marking Group, to commemorate Mothers' Day Weekend.

The USRA Modifieds, a usual part of the weekly program, will see several newcomers drop in on Lucas Oil Speedway. The Heartland Modified Tour's first two events included several drivers who compete on the United States Modified Touring Series.

Some of those drivers include Darron Fuqua of Mayetta, Kan., and Terry Phillips of Springfield—winners of the first two Heartland Modified Tour events in 2024.

Fuqua, the 2018 Lucas Oil Speedway USRA Modified track champion, leads the early points for the new series—nine pointys in front of Tyler Wolff of Fayetteville, Ark.

The USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will also be in compeition in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. Hermitage Lumber Late Models also will be in action.

This marks the second weekly program of the season at Lucas Oil Speedway after an April 27 rainout. Feature winners on April 20 were Robbie Reed (USRA Modifieds), Derek Brown (USRA Stock Cars) and Ryan Gillmore (USRA B-Mods).

Pits open at 4 p.m. with grandstands at 4:30, hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05 p.m.
