Mother Nature wins Springfield Raceway opener

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Heavy rains and cold temps forced cancellation of the season opener at the Springfield Raceway on Saturday, April 16.

The Speedway will try again next Saturday night, April 23, with the pit gates opening at 2:30, hot laps at 5:15 and racing at 6 p.m. featuring the USRA RHS Modifieds, Reliable Chevrolet Sports Mods, Casey's General Stores Midwest Modz, Wheeler Metal Pure Stocks, Missouri Legends and Pepsi Street Stocks.

Grandstands will open at 4 p.m. with general admission $10 for adults with kids 6-12 $5 and under 6 free.
