CRESCO, Iowa (July 21, 2002) - It was a great night of racing on Sunday as Little Buckaroo's sponsored the Cresco racing action. It was a hot night but we were able to get in a full night of racing as the rain held off until two laps remaining in the last feature race, allowing us to finish off the night successfully.

Starting off the night's heat races were the Modifieds. Brian Schrage and Todd Kelly picked up the heat wins. Bryan Webb, Tory Reicks, and Scott Bauer won the Hobby Stock heats.

Next to the track were the Stock Cars. Picking up the heat wins were Jeff Schluetter, Scott Bauer, and Kevin Bidne. Al Brink and Russel Eink won the Hornet heat races, and the Factory Stock heat wins went to Keith Eischens and Jimmy Broszeit.

The Cash Dash was next on the track. Darin Duffy, Tory Reicks, and Jeff Schluetter picked up the wins in the Modified, Hobby Stock, and Stock Car classes respectively. Tory Reicks was the only car to accept the Gordy's A Challenge.

The Hornets were the first class to take the track for the feature races. Steve Dwyer picked up his second feature win last week and was hoping to make it his third tonight. Dwyer, Danny Cole, and Russel Einck were definately the fast cars of the night, as those three cars led by over half a lap. Crossing the finish line first was Dwyer, followed by Cole, Einck, and Garry Gulrud.

Jimmy Broszert and Kurt Krauskof battled hard in the Factory Stock feature. Broszert took the lead on lap 5 and looked like he would hold on to it until a caution lap came out with 4 laps remaining. Krauskof tried to get around him, but it just didn't work as Broszert picked up the feature win, rounding out a great weekend as that was his third feature win. Krauskof came in second, followed by Lee Nuehring and Keith Eischens.

The races moved very quickly along and the Modifieds were the next to take the track. Darin Duffy started in 10th place and took the lead on lap 7. Dan Bohr, Kerry Ledebuhr, and Ron Konkel were right behind Duffy battling for that second position. Duffy ended up pulling away in this caution-free race, picking up the checkered flag. Finishing second was Bohr, followed by Konkel and Ledebuhr.

Tory Reicks took the Gordy's A Challenge in the Hobby Stock feature and was looking for the win after starting in the back of the pack. The one caution lap came a little to late in the race for Reicks, as he landed in seventh place. Darrin Walch started in eighth position, grabbed the lead on lap 4, and pulled away from the rest of the pack to pick up the checkered flag. Kevin Donlan, Jeremy Moellers, and Jason Schlangen rounded out the top four.

The Stock Car feature was next on the track and they put on another great show for the crowd. The top nine cars were all packed together early on and it looked like anyone could win the race. But Kevin Bidne and Scott Bauer were on the move and picked up the top two positions. At the half way point, Bidne went high and Bauer snuck underneath him to take the lead. With two laps left, the rain started to fall, but that didn't affect Bauer as he came away with the win. Bidne picked up second, followed by Jeff Schluetter and Gerald Peter.

Join us next week at the Cresco Speedway as Schroeder Racing Products sponsors the night's racing action.
