Bronner, Gebel, Kastli and Devries earn feature wins Sunday night

CRESCO, IA (May 9, 1999) - Racing action continued Sunday night at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, IA with races sponsored by Commercial Federal Bank of Cresco.

The modified class started the action off with heat wins going to Tim Heins of Elkader, IA and Brian Bronner of Lime Spings, IA.

Hobby Stock heat wins went to Tim Gebel of New Hampton, IA, Roger Deery of New Hampton and Mel Tieskotter of Decorah, IA.

Les Verly and Curt Martin of Independece, IA took heat wins in the IMCA Late Model class.

Picking up heat wins in the Stock car heats were Brian Tank of New Hampton, IA, Mike Bergan of Ceresco, IA and Marinus Mlady of Cresco, IA.

In the Modified feature race Brian Bronner and Chuck Stanton Pulled away late, in a two car battle. Bronner held off Stanton to pick up his first feature win of the year. Darin Duffy, Troy Hale and Dan Bohr finished 3-5.

The Stock Cars kept the Cresco crowd on the edge of their seats with side by side racing action. When all was said and done Darrell Devries of Charles City, IA took the checkered flag. This was Devries first feature win since returning to racing five years ago after a seventeen year layoff. Mike Bergan, Brian Tank, Steve Holthaus and Ron Konkel rounded out the top five.
