Springfield Raceway prepares for 6th Annual Bordertown Casino OctoberFAST

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The staff at the Springfield Raceway is getting it in high gear in preparation for the 6th Annual Bordertown Casino OctoberFAST on Saturday, Oct. 15.

This annual event features the USRA RHS Modifieds and also offers racing in five other classes with an outstanding payout down the line for all involved.

Bordertown Casino has once again signed on to be the title sponsor of the 6th Annual OctoberFAST race which will also include the fan favorite "Raining Money" promotion. One housand bills will rain from the sky while select fans will see how many bills they can snatch from the air as the bills rain down.

OctoberFAST will feature the largest paying purses of the season for the weekly Springfield Raceway divisions.

Action will feature the USRA RHS Modifieds as they compete for national points for the final weekend of the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series in a scheduled 25-lap, $1,222-to-win feature while the runner-up takes home $650 and $275 to start the main event.

Passing points will be used with the top 8 redrawing at intermission for their starting spots. Entry fee is $80 and pit passes are $35.

The pit gate opens at 10:30 a.m. and gradnstand gates open at 1 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 1:40 and draw for heat races ends at 2 p.m., followeed by hot laps. Racing begins at 3 p.m.

Admission for this can't-miss event is only $15 for adults while kids ages 6-12 are $5 and chilren under 6 are free.

Last season this event drew over 140 race teams to the quick quarter-mile. Scott Drake is the defending Bordertown Casino OctoberFAST champion.

RACEceivers are to be used, and drivers need to provide their own RACEceiver.
