Biggest, best stars to shine at Hancock County Speedway Aug. 10

BRITT, IA (July 23, 2000) — The biggest and the best stars you'll see shining on Aug. 10 will be at the Hancock County Speedway.

The sixth annual Harris Auto Racing Night of 1,000 Stars brings many of the best I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modified and Stock Car drivers in the region to Britt for the Thursday night special.

The $2,000 to-win Modified feature offers a special challenge to the fastest driver in the dash. The winner of that event earns another $1,000 if they agree to start in the back for the feature and capture that event as well.

More than $5,000 in contingency awards and another $900 in lap money will be given to the Modifieds.

Stock Cars will be racing in the Midwest Motorsports Best of the Midwest Series. Winner of that feature goes home with $600 and numerous contingencies will be awarded in that division as well.

Pit gates open at 5 p.m. for the Night of 1,000 Stars. The draw closes at 6:45 p.m., with hot laps at 7 p.m. and the first heat race at 7:30 p.m.
