Dodge County will see racing in 2012

KASSON, Minn. -- Racing will return to the historic Dodge County Speedway in Kasson, Minn., in 2012. A new promoting body that consists of Brian and Mike Madsen of B&M Promotions, Inc., of Blooming Prairie have signed on to promote weekly racing at the speedway. They will take over the reigns from Stan and Sandy Gilbertson who operated the facility last year.

Racing will get underway on Sunday night, May 6, at 5:00 with USRA B-Mods plus Hornets, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Midwest Mods and UMSS traditional non-winged Sprint Cars on the bill.

Weekly racing will take place each Sunday until Sept. 2.

The Madsens are trying to keep things affordable to fans this year. Adult tickets will be $10 for weekly points racing and a family pack will be introduced that will include four tickets (two adults and two children) for $25, as well as a coupon for a hot dog and a soda for each person.

The new promoters are also going to preserve and promote the history of the Dodge County Speedway. On May 20 they are planning a “Legends Night” to honor those that have raced at the speedway from the early days to the 1980s. The Northern Vintage Racers will be on hand as well as famous drivers that made Dodge County Speedway in the past.
