ALLISON, Iowa -- Rain and more rain forecasted for this evening has forced event organizers to cancel tonight’s event at the Highway 3 Raceway in Allison, Iowa, featuring USMTS Modifieds and the Industrial Material Surplus Iron Man Challenge for Stock Cars and B-Mods.

No announcement has been made yet regarding a possible make-up date.

On Saturday, action moves to the popular Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., for the 10th Annual A&A Electric Southern MN Spring Challenge.

The Industrial Material Surplus Iron Man Challenge will featuring USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will join the USMTS Modifieds for the on-track action. Wissota Super Stocks and Wissota Street Stocks will also be on tap.

Grandstands gates open at 3:00 with $1 beer, pop and hot dogs available until 4:00. Hot laps are at 4:30 and races start at 5:00. Slingshots will be racing on the Button Buck Speedway at 2:00. Race fans can pick up $2-off grandstand admission coupons on race day at Casey's General Store locations in Owatonna, Rochester and Stewartville.

The Deer Creek Speedway is located 11.3 miles south of I-90 (exit 209) on US 63 (0.7 mile north of SR 16). Order your tickets now on-line at www.deercreekspeedway.com or call 877-DCS-RACE.

Stock Cars will be racing for $700 to win and $125 to start both nights while B-Mods will battle for $500 to win and $80. Tow money for non-qualifiers will be $75 and $50, respectively.

There is no requirement to purchase a USRA license to compete in the Iron Man Challenge, but licensed drivers in each class will get $10 off their entry fee each night. The cost of a USRA license is $100 for Stock Cars and $90 for B-Mods, and comes with a piece-of-mind $100,000 insurance policy and track and national points funds unmatched in grassroots dirt track racing.

Last season 367 tough-as-nails drivers took part in the Iron Man Challenge, including 237 different B-Mod drivers and 130 Stock Car competitors.

The 2012 points champion will be determined by the best 12 finishes for B-Mods while Stock Cars will count their best 10 nights. To be eligible for points funds, drivers must possess a valid USRA license, utilize the American Racer KK704 racing tire on all four wheels and compete in at least half of the events for their division.

All Iron Man Challenge events will also award USRA national points.
