Reliable Chevrolet pads purse for USRA B-Mods this Saturday at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Exciting racing action gets back into gear Saturday, June 2, at the Springfield Raceway with the running of the 3rd Annual Reliable Chevrolet $500-to-win USRA B-Mod special, plus a full show of Transport Graphics Chase For The Championship.

This event is slated to highlight the already exciting race program held every Saturday night at the quick quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval.

The USRA B-Mods will not only be competing for USRA track and national points, but also the winner's share of $500 while starting the "A" Main will pay $100 to the drivers.

Adding in the fact that Reliable Chevrolet and GM Performance Parts have also raised the bar this season with extra money for those drivers using the Reliable Chevrolet GM 602 crate engine to the tune of $350 to be handed to the top four drivers using crate engines on all USRA B-Mod points shows at Springfield for 2012. Also there is $100 extra to the top finishing CT525 crate engine for the USRA Modifieds weekly.

This will be an open draw for heat race positions only in the USRA B-Mods and passing points will help determine the line-ups as the top 8 will redraw for starting spots. There is a $25 car entry fee for the USRA B-Mods.

Jon Yeoman Jr. and Larry Tindle have won the previous two Reliable Chevrolet special events.

Looking at the track points standings, things have gotten tight overall after last week's events as Mitch Keeter has become the first driver in the Budweiser USRA Modifieds this season to still hold the number 1 spot, but three-time winner Bobby Pearish has closed the gap to only six points and five-time track champion Jackie Dalton sits only 16 markers out of the lead as early season points leader John Yeoman and a fast-moving Jerry Lankton complete the top 5.

The Reliable Chevrolet USRA B-Mods still shows Scott Drake in the lead, but last week's winner, Mike Hailman, has closed the gap to only a 13-point lead. Former Midwest Modz track champion Kaleb Copher is a solid third with two-time winner Brandon Maggard moving up the ladder as Andy Beauchamp completes the top 5. Both Drake and Brandon Maggard are powered by Reliable GM 602 crate engines.

Reliable Chevrolet is located in Springfield at 3655 South Campbell and offers complete service in new, used and program cars, along with a staff ready for full-service including a body shop, Monday through Saturday.

Saturday night is also Scout Night. All scouts (boys and girls) and their den leaders in uniform will receive free grandstand admission Saturday night.

Grandstand gates open at 5:00 with hot laps to begin at 6:00 and the first race slated at 7:00. Pit gates open at 4:00 with drivers meeting set for 5:40. Drivers check-in cuts off at 6:15. Drivers arriving after that time are placed tailback in a heat race.

Grandstand admission is only $12 for adults with kids ages 6-12 only $5 and children under 6 free. Pit passes are $25.
