Storms defeat Chateau racers

LANSING, Minn. -- A rain shower during the first Pure Stock heat race delayed the show for about a half an hour, but racing continued at the Chateau Raceway. Eleven heat races and one feature were run off in just over an hour with only one caution flag. There was continuous lightning to the north and west of the facility and a few sprinkles throughout the show.

During the Hornet feature, a light shower fell and lightning lit up the skies. During that race a drivers meeting was held and it was voted to postpone the rest of the program.

It was a very good decision as severe thunderstorm warnings were issued and shortly thereafter a huge deluge hit the area. So next Friday’s show will have double features for the rest of the classes plus the regular program.
