Iron Man Challenge USRA B-Mods on tap Thursday at Raceway Park, Sunday at Nobles County Speedway

Thirteen-year-old Trevor Hunt is the current Iron Man Challenge points leader in the USRA B-Mod division.

JEFFERSON, S.D. -- The Industrial Material Surplus Iron Man Challenge returns to action with a pair of events this week for the USRA B-Mods as they accompany the USMTS Modifieds to Raceway Park in Jefferson, S.D., on Thursday, July 19, and then cross the border to battle at the Nobles County Speedway in Worthington, Minn., on Sunday, July 22.

Each race will pay $500 to win.

On Thursday, gates will open at 5 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30 and the first heat race gets the green flag at 7 p.m. The Raceway Park is located just 10 miles north of Sioux City, Iowa. Take I-29 to exit 4, then 0.2 mile east to SR 105 then 1.7 mile north (on the west side of SR 105). For more information about the track, check out online.

On Sunday, pit gates will open at 2 p.m., grandstand gates open at 3 p.m., hot laps begin at 5:30 and racing starts at 6 p.m. The Nobles County Speedway is located off of I-90 at Exit 43, then 0.4 mile south on SR 59, then 0.4 mile west on Oxford St., then 0.2 mile north on McMullan (Pioneer Village). Looking for somewhere to race in between these two shows? There are plenty of top-notch dirt tracks in the area hosting American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series events on Friday and Saturday.

Saturday, July 21: Deer Creek Speedway, Spring Valley, Minn.; I-90 Speedway, Hartford, S.D.; Upper Iowa Speedway, Decorah, Iowa.

The 2012 Industrial Material Surplus Iron Man Challenge points champion will be determined by the best 12 finishes for USRA B-Mods. All Iron Man Challenge events will also award national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series.
