Springfield Raceway back in action with Back to School Night

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield Raceway will be back in action on Saturday night, Aug. 11, with Back to School Night. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free in the grandstands, along with some special items for kids as school supplies will be offered along with other items and special deals.

Not only the track sponsors, but also special sponsors for this popular event include Pepsi, Ron's Racing Collectibles in Springfield, DirtWorks Race Cars, Auto Express In Joplin, Race Brothers Farm & Home Supply In Springfield, Monett and Carthage, Andy's Frozen Custard of Springfield, Jackie Dalton Racing along with Doug's Pro Lube, Yeoman Racing Engines, and Hoffman Race Cars have all joined in to help distribute school supplies to the kids along with the first 100 kids in the grandstands will receive a free backpack. Also there will be two bikes given away -- one for the boys and one for the girls.

Action will feature the Budweiser USRA Modifieds as Jackie Dalton and Mitch Keeter head into this weekend in a deadlock in the track points standings, plus Reliable Chevrolet USRA B-Mods, Casey's General Stores Midwest Modz, Wheeler Metals Legends and Young Lions, Pepsi Pure Stocks and Williams Lawn Care And Restoration Street Stocks.

Grandstand admission is only $12 while kids 12 and under are free. Grandstand gates open at 5:30 while hot laps start at 6:30 and Racing at 7:30. Pit passes are $25 and pit gates open at 4:30. Drivers meeting is slated for 6:15 while driver draw cuts off at 6:45. Driver check-in is also 6:45.
