WHEATLAND, Mo. -- It was Buffalo Prairie Dental Fan Appreciation Night at Lucas Oil Speedway Saturday. In an exciting Pitts Homes USRA Modified feature, John Allen from Chanute, Kan., held off a charging Jason Hughes from West Plains for the win.

In one of the most exciting features of the night, Allen fought to hold on to the top position as a stout field of challengers made him work for win. The Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds brought out some of the best drivers in the area as Allen picked up the win over Hughes.

Hughes started in seventh and worked through the lead pack to challenge for the lead. He finished second followed by Jason Russell. Jeff Cutshaw from Cross Timbers was forth and young gun Paden Phillips from Chanute, Kan., completed the top 5.

Fans enjoyed great racing all night long as mother nature threatened, but did not stop the show. Buffalo Prairie Dental greeted guests as they arrived with free items and balloons for the kids. Next week the Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series wraps up for 2012 with the crowning of track champions in each of the four weekly racing classes. Don't miss the final event. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:30. Adult general admission tickets are just $12, seniors (62 and up) $8, youth (6-15 years) $5, kids age 5 and under are always free at Lucas Oil Speedway.
