Springfield Raceway Season Champions set for Saturday

Springfield, Mo. -- Round 16 of the Transport Graphics Championship Chase will get underway Saturday night, Sept. 1, at the Springfield Raceway as drivers attempt to grab that first win of the season or better themselves in the final point standings.

Action will feature the Budweiser USRA Modifieds, Reliable Chevrolet USRA B-Mods, Casey's General Stores Midwest Modz, Wheeler Metal Legends and Young Lion Legends, Pepsi Pure Stocks and Williams Lawn Care & Preservation Street Stocks.

Current points leaders include Jackie Dalton (USRA Modifieds) holding a narrow 22-point cushion over Mitch Keeter, and Scott Drake (USRA B-Mods.

The Springfield Raceway will also be having a lap of respect and honor in the memory of long time fan Wanda "Granny" Jeffries of Springfield. Jeffries was a devoted fan of the Springfield Raceway and during the banquet for the 2010 race season was awarded a season long pass from owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland. She passed away in early August 2011 and was a loved member by fans, drivers and staff.

In case of a cancellation due to weather, there will be no make-up date and standings will be final.

Grandstand gates open at 5:30 with hot laps to start around 6:30 and racing to get underway at 7:30. Grandstand admission is only $12 for adults while kids 6-12 are $5 and under 6 free.
