Springfield Raceway adds late September date

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield Raceway owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland have announced another night of exciting dirt track racing to the 2012 schedule.

Saturday night, Sept. 29, action fires up again at the "Quick Quarter" with a mechanics race and ladies powder puff event to the racing card.

Action will feature the USRA Modifieds (sanctioned for USRA national pPoints), B-Mods (Springfield Raceway rules), Midwest Modz, Legends, Young Lions Legends, Street Stocks and area Pure Stocks.

This will be an open draw for heat races event with passing points to determine the feature line-ups. Payout will be regular Springfield Raceway payout for all classes.

In addition to the action on the high-banked quarter-mile dirt oval, he Speedway will hold a ladies powder puff race and mechanics race. No former drivers in the mechanics race as this is a chance for the person who helps turn those wrenches each week to go have a little fun.

The ladies powder puff allows the women a chance to show their husbands just what the car can do and is always a crowd pleasure.

Racing will begin at 6 p.m. while pit passes will be $25. Grandstand admission that evening will be the normal $12 for adults with Kids 6-12 only $5 and under 6 free.

Sept. 15 - Larry Phillips Memorial presented by Home Pro Improvement Store of Joplin featuring MLRA/MARS Super Late Models, USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, Midwest Modz, Pure Stocks, Legends, Young Lions and Street Stocks.

Sept. 29 - USRA Modifieds, all regular classes plus powder puff and mechanics race.

Oct. 6 - Bordertown Casino Octoberfast featuring ASCS Warrior/Sooner Regional Winged Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods and classes TBA.

Oct. 27 - 2nd Annual Boogerman Trick-or-Treat for Breast Cancer (classes TBA).

Nov. 17 -Turkey Classic - Late Models, Modifieds, B-Mods and Legends.
