WEST UNION, Iowa -- Friday night racing returns to the Fayette County Speedway in 2013 with USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks headling the action at the 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval.

Racing will kick off with opening night on May 3 and continue through Aug. 30. Several special events dot the calendar, including the annual Fayette County Fair on July 26 and Season Championships on Aug. 23.

Hot laps begin at 6:30 every Friday. Grandstand tickets will remain $5 again in 2013, with kids ages 11 and under admitted free of charge. Pit passes will be $25.

Four-cylinder Flyers will also be on the racing card with two-man Cruisers and 600 Mod Lites competing on alternating weeks.

Lynn Panos captured the track championship for 2012 in the USRA Stock Car division. Brian Mahlstedt took the USRA B-Mod title and Steve Larson was the top points earner in the USRA Hobby Stocks. Panos and Larson both wound up third in USRA national points while Mahlstedt finished seventh nationally among 810 USRA B-Mod racers.

The Fayette County Speedway is located 0.9 mile south of US 18 on SR 150, then 0.1 mile east on SR 56 (at the Fayette County Fairgrounds).
