RPM Speedway $17,000 Grand Re-Opening Blowout set for Saturday

CRANDALL, Texas -- This coming Saturday, Feb. 23, is the $17,000 Grand Re-Opening Blowout at the new RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas.

During the off-season, track promoter Jason Troutman and his team have reconfigured the racing surface, increased and adjusted the track lighting and addressed several other punch list items.

Fans and race teams can get their first taste of the fast-paced action this coming Saturday when the season points lid-lifter hits the track at 7 p.m.

The USRA Modifieds pay $1,500 to win. Sprint Cars, Limited Modifieds, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks are also on the racing card.

There are no entry fees in any of the divisions and a whopping $17,000 in cash will be distributed. Click www.rpmspeedwaytx.com/special.html to view complete payback and details. Rules for each division are posted at the track website.

This is also opening weekend for USRA Modifieds nationwide, and with other tracks not yet open race fans can expect some invaders taking on the stout field of RPM drivers.

Race fans will also get to see the massive listing of sponsors that are supporting RPM Speedway’s rebirth in 2013.

Sponsors have rallied behind Troutman and his team. The support of sponsors has allowed the track to help offset the remodeling costs, as well as paying one of the strongest weekly racing purses offered in the region while still keeping pricing family-affordable for race fans.

The pit area opens at 3 p.m. and the grandstands open at 5. Teams are urged to arrive early, especially if they have yet to register their car for the 2013 season. Online driver registration is ongoing at the track website in the meantime. If you’ve yet to register your car, it is helpful to do it now, as it will save everyone time on opening night.

Track packing will commence at 6 p.m. with hot laps to follow. Draw cut-off for all race teams is 6:30. The first green flag is expected to wave at 7 p.m. A complete program of heat races and features will be contested.

Adult ticket prices are just $12, kids are $5 and all pit passes are $30.

The long-range forecast is currently showing dry and partly cloudy conditions with daytime highs in the 60’s, which will make for excellent racing conditions.

With this being the first points event for all five RPM racing divisions, it is the first chance for drivers to start earning their guaranteed starting positions for the $25,000 RPM Championship on Sept. 27. Complete details and format are posted on the track website for this exciting and revolutionary conclusion to the points season.
