Muilenburg tops USRA B-Mods at North Central Arkansas Speedway

YELLVILLE, Ark. -- A late afternoon thunderstorm and intermittent showers that lasted until the time the first green flag would normally fly might have delayed the start of the night’s racing this evening at North Central Arkansas Speedway, but thanks to the hard work of track officials the dedicated drivers and fans that waited out the weather were treated to some great racing action.

The USRA B-Mod feature got started with Steve Muilenburg and Charlie Gentile holding down the front row. Muilenburg jumped out to the early lead entering turn one, with Ray Flippin passing Gentile exiting turn 2 to take over second. Flippin closed on the leader a couple of times but Muilenburg easily drove away for the win, followed to the finish line by Flippin and Gentile.

The USRA Modified class was scheduled to be the last event on the speedway, but with heavy fog rolling in from the banks of Crooked Creek directly behind the track, the feature race was postponed and will be the first feature race of the night next Friday.

Racing action continues this Friday night, July 26, featuring a USRA B-Mod vs. Super Stock showdown.
