David Pope Memorial purse continues to rise

CRANDALL, Texas -- Joy and Dustin Pope, RPM Speedway promoter Jason Troutman, area racers and businesses continue building on top of an already massive $27,000 purse slated for the David Pope Memorial to be held at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, on Saturday, Sept. 7.

And today, the next batch of sponsor announcements and purse increases are being revealed:

- Dunn Motorsports, along with RPM Speedway, has added a combined total of $1,000 to the winners share of the Modified feature, making it a whopping $4,000 to win. With no driver entry fee and the standard RPM Speedway pit pass prices, this should help to bring together many of the finest modified teams in the region. Dunn Motorsports fields the always sharp looking #88xxx driven by Clyde Dunn Jr.

- Dodge Boys Fabrication "Hard Luck Awards." Owners Glen and Robbie Watkins are putting up $100 each in the Limited Modified and Modified divisions for a driver that experiences Hard Luck during the event. Dodge Boys Fabrication specialize in race car fabrication, as well as full sheet metal projects. Located in Blue Ridge Texas, you can find them on Facebook at "Dodge Boys Fabrication."

- R&B Motorsports (Rusty and Becky Trevathan, Wiley, Texas), are donating a new set of doors and quarter panels to a lucky driver in each of the Modified and Limited Modified divisions.

Racers and fans, please take a moment to thank the people supporting this event. Without everyone's support, an event like this would be very difficult to produce.

Note to Factory Stock teams: If your car is LoneStar Speedway Factory Stock legal, your cars are legal at this event with one exception: RPM minimum weight is 3,200#.

ALL pit parking is first-come, first-serve for this event, and there is to be no holding of pit spaces. If you would like to pit next to someone, please try to enter the pits at the same time.
