WHEATLAND, Mo. -- On a warm summer night in the Ozarks, the racing action at the Lucas Oil Speedway was fast and furious as John Allen picked up the USRA Modified feature win Saturday.

The featured class of the night was the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds and what a show it was as Allen and Steve Muilenburg put on a driving clinic running side by side for lap after lap before Allen finally secured the top spot and took the win.

Muilenburg scored his second consecutive top-2 finish as he followed Allen across the line.

Hermitage's Jason Pursley had a great run on the slick and smooth Lucas Oil Speedway racing surface to take third ahead of Jon Sheets and Dalton Kirk.

Nathan Vaughn, Terry Kirk and Scotty Bough captured heat race wins.

On Saturday, Aug. 31, the USRA Modifieds will be racing for a special $850 to win in a 30-lap main event during the 3rd Annual Diamond Drag Boat Nationals featuring the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series.
