USRA sanctioning returns to Lucas Oil Speedway; USRA B-Mods added for 2014

WHEATLAND, Mo.—The Lucas Oil Speedway is continuing and expanding it's affiliation with the United States Racing Association (USRA) for the 2014 racing season, officials from the track and USRA announced today.

In addition to the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, the track's Tri-Lakes RV B-Mod division will also be sanctioned by the USRA for the weekly programs in 2014 at the state-of-the-art facility in Wheatland, Mo.

Lucas Oil Speedway boasted an average USRA Modified car count of 33 in 2013 with five of the top ten in USRA national points running at Lucas Oil Speedway on a weekly or semi-weekly basis.

The B-Mods had a whopping 36 car average in 2013.

"It is just a great opportunity for us to partner with USRA to bring a unified rules package, a great points fund and an outstanding driver insurance program to both of our modified divisions," commented Lucas Oil Speedway general manager and promoter Dan Robinson.

Sedalia's Terry Schultz claimed the 2013 USRA Modified track championship while also finishing fourth overall in USRA national points.

Nevada's Jon Sheets finished second in the USRA Modified track points while taking the eighth spot in USRA national points.

Lebanon's Kris Jackson won his second consecutive Tri-Lakes RV B-Mod track championship in 2013 with seven wins on the season.

Matt Dotson of Clark, Mo. (USRA Modified) and Troy Hovey of Decorah, Iowa (USRA B-Mod) will be awarded $10,000 and $2,000, respectively, for their 2013 USRA national championships.

Lucas Oil Speedway officials are feverishly working to finalize the 2014 racing schedule and expect to have it finalized and published in the coming weeks.
