Casey’s General Stores becomes title sponsor of USRA Championship Series

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa -- The United States Racing Association (USRA) is proud to announce the addition of a national points fund for the 2005 season with the signing of Casey’s General Stores as the national title sponsor for the USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series.

Headquartered in Webster City, Iowa, the USRA is going into its fourth season of operation and will sanction nine different tracks in Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Missouri for the 2005 racing season.

More than 30 different classes will be sanctioned by the USRA with Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and B-Modifieds serving as the primary classes at these tracks.

Tracks that will compete under the new USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series include the following:

Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway, Memphis, Mo.

Carriker Ford Southern Iowa Speedway, Oskaloosa, Iowa

Cresco Speedway, Cresco, Iowa

Deer Creek Speedway, Spring Valley, Minn.

Dodge County Speedway, Kasson, Minn.

Fox Ridge Speedway, Arcadia, Wis.

Murray County Speedway, Slayton, Minn.

Nobles County Speedway, Worthington, Minn.

Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway, Britt, Iowa

The first season of the USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series will see the drivers' best 30 finishes counted towards the national points fund. All classes will be combined for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Championship Series, with the top-10 drivers earning year-end cash awards.

Each track in the USRA Casey’s General Stores Championship Series guarantees a $1,000 top prize to the track champion in the USRA Modified division for a 16-race-minimum season. In the USRA Stock Car USRA B-Mod classes, the champion is guaranteed $700 to win, with $500 earmarked for each USRA Hobby Stock champion.

The top-10 in each class at each track are guaranteed points fund awards.

The USRA Casey’s General Stores Championship Series will guarantee the National Champion a $1,500 payday, with the top-10 positions also earning awards.

The official points season began April 1, 2005, and all points will be accumulated through Sept. 11, 2005. Any sanctioned class will be eligible for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Championship Series National Championship with the 30 nights of USRA-sanctioned action in specified time frame.
