KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Defending USRA Modified champion Nic Bidinger made the most of his second row starting spot by challenging early race leader, Kerry Davis, from the get-go of the 25-lap feature event Friday night at the Lakeside Speedway.

Once past Davis, the current point leader easily motored on for the win.

Last week’s feature winner, Tim Karrick, was never farther back than third and was able to hold off Trevor Hunt at the end to finish second.

Mark Schafman started tenth and raced to fourth while Kirby Stiens rounded out the top five.

Mike Higley gave the Ford fans something to cheer about as his 351 Windsor powerplant dominated the 15-lap USRA B-Mod feature.

In a race that went green to checkered with no cautions, Higley first encountered slower traffic by lap 5.

Last week’s winner, Brad Smith, ran every lap in second and was, at times, able to use slower cars to his advantage.

The two were side by side coming out of turn 4 heading to the checkers, in fact, but with Higley carrying a bit more momentum he had to settle for second.

Randal Schiffelbein Jr. and Chad Clancy entertained the crowd with their battle for third and fourth, lap after lap after lap.

At the end, Schiffelbein finished in front of Clancy for third.

Current USRA B-Modi national points leader Jake Richards rounded out the top five.

Once again the USRA Stock Cars put on one of the best shows of the night.

Early race leader of the 15-lap feature Justin Seifert was never far from the field.

It took him 11 of the 15 laps to race from tenth to first but Brett Heeter made his presence known.

After a couple of laps tailing Seifert and inside move going in to turn 3 sealed the deal.

Seifert finished second ahead of Joe Smith Jr., Anthony Whitham and Jay Barnes rounded out the top five in the caution-free event.

“Racing on the River's Edge” continues every Friday night through October with the USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods and USRA Stock Cars plus Grand Nationals.

Gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps start at 6:45 and the first race gets under way at 7:30 p.m.

Adult ticket prices are $12, kids ages 7 to 12 are $6 and children 6 and younger are admitted free. Seniors and military personnel with ID are admitted for $10.
