(Lack of) service provider forces Red River Speedway to postpone on-track action

WICHITA, FALLS, Texas -- Seven weeks ago, Red River Speedway (RRS) paid a large sum of money to the electrical service provider for establishing electricity at the track. After dozens of phone calls to that service provider over the course of the past seven weeks, that service provider still refuses to give RRS officials an official completion date, citing “we’ve got a big job scheduled ahead of yours.”

As with any business in this predicament, RRS has their hands tied and cannot proceed with any racing activity until they finish the job that service provider was paid for seven weeks ago.

This is the ultimate in frustration for RRS track officials, as other construction projects are still on schedule for completion, or already completed.

That being said, here’s what we have to do:

1. We’re suspending the entire schedule until the service provider finishes their job.

2. When they finish their job, we will put out publicity at all of our communication channels, such as www.RRSpeedway.com or www.facebook.com/RedRiverSpeedway on Facebook immediately. So stay tuned for upcoming announcements.

3. We will pick back up by scheduling a practice date, at that time. Then, we will resume with the previously scheduled races for that race date (when we know what opening date it is).

We’re certainly hoping this seven week service provider delay ends in the next week or two; but we can’t know – until they show up and complete the job they were paid for long ago.

Until then, we’re going to continue wrapping up new building construction and such, so when the electrical service provider does get their end of the process completed, we’re ready to put it into use with long awaited on-track racing activity!
