Dotson, Sanders, Richards Roberts winners on Show-Me Realty Night at I-35 Speedway

WINSTON, Mo. -- Tackling the 3/8-mile of dirt at I-35 Speedway first was the make-up feature from May 10 for the USRA Modifieds. After a great prerace ceremony honoring our fallen heroes that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms on Memorial Day weekend, the racing action began. Using a front row outside starting position, heat race winner Issac Dotson #67d would charge to the early lead and never look back for his second victory in as many weeks. Point leader and other heat race winner Zach Sanders #69 would again show poise and consistency in a solid second place finish. Trevor Hunt #99h and Dennis Elliott #29 would swap the third and fourth positions the entire race, with Hunt passing the line third and Elliott fourth. Michael Dotson #55d would charge from the back of the pack to round out the top five.

USRA B-Mods were in spectacular form going green, white, checkers in their feature run. Jim Cameron #96c would jump out to an early lead and look in fine form only to be denied the top spot as Jake Richards #7j would maneuver lap traffic to perfection and claim the victory. Richards would dominate the late stages of the feature as Cameron would hold on to second place. Jeremy Pittsenbarger #32p would use his high side line in route to an impressive third place finish. The big movers of the feature were Yancy Shepard #20y and Chad Clancy #21c, as they would thread the needle through traffic with Shepard fourth and Clancy fifth. Heat race winners included Jake Richards #7j, Tim Eaton #211, Caleb Dennis #11d, and Jeremy Pittsenbarger #32p. B-Feature winners were Randy Ainsworth #57 and Clint Baker #17x.

In the USRA Stock Car class the beat goes on for the winning streak of Thomas Roberts #65x as he would pick up career victory number 72. Roberts would start outside row one moving to the lead in turn two and would be challeneged relentlessly by #417 of Kevin Anderson. Anderson would work low and high to gain any advantage only to be held off by Roberts, leaving him to place second. Jake Cameron #86c was the hard charger of the race moving from back to front on his way to placing third. Dean Wray #77 continues his consistency by challenging early for the lead but fading late to finish fourth. John Crews #12c would power his way to another top five finish. Heat race winners were Dean Wray #77 and Kevin Anderson #417.

In the second USRA Modified feature of the evening Zach Sanders #69 proved to be the man to beat as he would lead every lap picking up feature number three of the 2014 racing season. Sanders would take the early advantage and would be challenged often by Steven Bowers #77 and Kerry Davis #68. Bowers would find the high side in the latter stages of the race and close in on the leader Sanders making it a dash to the checkers as he would be forced to settle for second place. The always impressive Kerry Davis would use the low line and race his way to third. The big mover and shaker of the feature was Darren Shaw #11 as he would race high and low moving past cars almost at will to finish fourth. The always consistent Dennis Elliott #29 would round out the feature’s top five. Heat race winners were Zach Sanders #69, Steven Bowers #77, and Shane Lawson #17$.

Battling Mother Nature could not alter the great racing action at I-35 Speedway on Memorial Day Weekend. Racing action like no other was witnessed in each and every class of cars on a perfect 3/8 mile racetrack. We would like to thank all of our drivers for putting on one of the best nights of racing thus far in the 2014 season. Please join us again next week for Seeburg Muffler Night at the Races as we will invite the Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racers and Non-Wing Sprint Cars to the track. Intermission fun will include the “Three Legged Races” for some of our drivers down the front strait. Thank you fans and see everyone next week for more “Dirt Trackin at its Best”. See you there!
