Fito Gallardo, Lasiter take Southern New Mexico Speedway laurels

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- It was another scorcher out at the Southern New Mexico Speedway on Saturday, June 7, and we're not just talking about the heat.

There was something for everyone with the Barnett Harley-Davidson USRA Modifieds and Outwest Express Trucking USRA Stock Cars, plus Casa Nissan Legends of the Southwest and the Super Late Models tearing up the track.

The USRA Modifieds put on a show going four wide before revving up for a race to remember.

With 20 drivers at the start, the Gallardos took the lead, dominating the track with Jacob Gallardo leading the pack until Fito Gallardo got aggressive and passed him.

In the final stretch, all four Gallardos were in the top five, only split by Royal Jones in fourth, with Fito Gallardo passing the checkered flag first.

The USRA Stock Cars started with heat winner Noah Hollingshead in the lead. He got loose and Justin Lasiter passed him with six laps to go.

Lasiter started 11th, but that didn't stop him from getting the win.

Next week head on out for the Christy Georges Special. For only $44 you can treat yourself and three friends to admission, hot dogs, chips and drinks. You can't beat that price for dinner and a show.
