EL PASO, Texas -- Mud was flying Friday night at the El Paso Speedway Park and it was a jammed-pack night with a total of six classes racing that included the USRA Modifieds and USRA Stock Cars.

The USRA Stock Cars had an extra incentive with a bounty in the main event. If either Justin Lasiter or John McDaniel took the win, they would get an extra $100 in their pocket. For the rest of the racers, if anybody else won they would get $500 cash to sweeten the deal.

With the green flag, Lasiter pulled ahead off the straight-away with McDaniel hot on his tail, but not for long. Lasiter pulled ahead even more and left anybody’s hope to collect that bounty in his tire tracks.

Next, the USRA Modifieds filed onto the speedway with yet another complete restart as Tom Georges and Austin Adams made contact. In the second restart, Fito Gallardo pulled into the lead almost neck and neck with Royal Jones. Gallardo revved up and put a full turn between him and Jones.

With 14 laps to go, Xavier Ortega and Carlos Ahumada Sr. clashed in turn 2, bringing a yellow and getting Jones closer to catching Gallardo. It didn’t take long until Gallardo was able to get his heavy lead, half a track at one point, and it was all over from there.

Next week you will not want to miss the return of the ASCS Winged Sprint cars along with the USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, Super Trucks and Hornets. If you can’t wait that long for more race action, check out our sister track, the Southern New Mexico Speedway, on Saturday night. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:45 p.m.
