Shryock wins 6th annual Fall Jamboree for Team HTL

FERTILE, Iowa -- United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Series point leader Kelly Shryock, of Fertile, IA, captured the 6th Annual ‘USMTS Fall Jamboree’ at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN last Saturday night. Kelly beat 110 other open wheel modifieds to take home the $12,000 payday. He started eleventh in his heat race and finished second, which tied him for first in passing points with Denny Schwartz.

He redrew a number three for the 3-wide start of the 40-lap feature, which gave him an outside row one starting position. Kelly would lead all 40 laps, but had to survive two late cautions and a challenge by Corey Dripps to capture the big victory. The win pushed Kelly over the $100,000 mark in USMTS earnings in 2004.

Kelly also had a pair of strong runs in the two nights preceding the ‘USMTS Fall Jamboree’ finale. He finished third in the $2,000 to win show on Thursday night and sixth in the $4,000 show on Friday.

The 2004 USMTS campaign will wind down this weekend with the final two events of the season. Kelly will be in attendance this Friday and Saturday night at the Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, MO.
