LANSING, Minn. -- It was a glorious night weather wise for racing at Chateau Raceway this past Friday. The show was presented by St. Ansgar Plumbing & Heating along with Albert Lea Steel as two became first time winners.

Kylie Kath took the lead off of row one in the L&D Ag USRA B-Mod main event. Josh Mattick and A.J. Zvorak trailed while Charlie Steinberg charged to fourth from the ninth spot. Steinberg ran the high line to third when he zipped past Zvorak. A caution on lap 9 closed the field back up.

Kath once again took off with Mattick trying to hang with him up front. The laps continued to fall and the leaders came up on lapped traffic with just a couple of laps to go. Kath got pinned behind the lapped car and had to slow briefly. Mattick powered to the low side and the two touched and Steinberg zoomed by both of them to steal the lead.

Steinberg took the win his first in the B-Mod division followed by Mattick and Kath. Kath got into Mattick on the cool down lap as they were exiting the track and things spilled over into the pit area. Kath was disqualified for the post-race incident which moved Zvorak to third, Kadden Kath to fourth and Mark Wytaske was fifth.

Damon Haslip dominated the 25-lap French’s Repair & Fabrication USRA Modified 25-lap finale. Haslip started outside of row one and drove away for his second win of the season. The race was slowed by two cautions one of which was a tangle between Dennis and Doug Hillson. Todd Scharkey slipped by Jacob Dahle for second on lap nine and they finished second and third. Darwyn Karau placed fourth and Doug Hillson was fifth.

There is no racing on Friday, Aug. 15, but racing will resume on Friday, Aug. 22, with the final car ride night for the kids. Kids will get an opportunity to ride in and on their favorite drivers race car before the program that evening.
