CRESCO, Iowa -- A full class of USRA Stock Cars started the show on Sunday night at the Cresco Speedway. Twenty-one Stock Cars were on hand including two new Stock Car drivers, Brandon Hare and Brian Mahlstedt, who made the mid-season jump from the USRA B-Mod class.

Kevin Donlan, who took his USRA Stock Car to victory lane on Friday night at the Fayette County Speedway, picked up right where he left off. Donlan started on pole for feature event and jumped out to a two-car-length lead. The only caution of race flew when Donlan’s ride broke and stalled on the front stretch.

With Donlan dropping out of the race, Dillon Anderson took over the top spot on the restart. Anderson saw heavy pressure from Tom Schmitt for the remainder of the race, but in the closing laps it was Anderson who drove away with his first victory of the season at the Cresco Speedway.

Anderson was followed by Schmitt, Kyle Falck, Shawn Peter and Shay Curtin as they rounded out the top 5 for the USRA Stock Cars.

Dan Hovden found victory lane at the Cresco Speedway for the first time in his career a few weeks ago. Hovden, who started in the second row inside in main event for the USRA B-Mods, jumped out to an early lead. Jacob Bleess, who captured the USRA B-Mod win at Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday night, was the only driver who could keep up with the Hovden machine.

After a mid-race caution brought the field back together, Hovden proved he had the faster ride of the night and drove away from Bleess and the rest of the field on Sunday night and claimed his second career feature win at the Cresco Speedway.

Hovden was followed by Bleess, Ben Moudry, Matt Jones and Casey Knutsonwere in the top 5 on Sunday night in the USRA B-Mod class.

The USRA Hobby Stocks saw a repeat winner on Sunday night. Steve Holthaus started outside pole for the feature event and led every lap of the race. The USRA Hobby Stocks went green to checkers on Sunday night in a smooth, clean racing show. Holthaus has recorded over 160 career wins, simply no surprise when the No. 70 machine finds victory lane.

Holthaus was followed by Andy Stinson, Brady Link, Scott Spilde and Steve Larson to the checkers, and ended the night at the Cresco Speedway.
