Jones, Turner take Southern New Mexico Speedway wins

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- It was a back-to-back USRA Stock Car win Saturday night at the Southern New Mexico Speedway for Lloyd Turner. It was a fast easy race for Turner as he jumped to the lead and was never seen again, winning by half a track.

Jon McDaniel and Justin Lasiter batled for the runner-up spot with Lasiter winning that battle.

Inthe USRA Modifieds, all eyes were on Christy Georges as she made her return to racing after being out of the car for three months. She started fourth and came to third quickly while her and Fito Gallardo had a good battle for second.

Behind them, Terry Tipton and Chad Falco had a good run going on until Falco got around him.

Meanwhile, Royal Jones led with Georges and Gallardo trying to get around. After five cautions and five restarts, that Mesilla Valley Transportation #131 stayed strong to win the USRA Modified main event.

Georges had a good second place, with Gallardo third and Falco fourth.

The season is just getting better! We return to sprint car racing next weekend. So come on out to the Southern New Mexico Speedway for the return of the 305 Rumble.
