Gallardo gets another USRA Modified win at Southern New Mexico Speedway

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Talk about entertainment! The Onate Knight Marching Band was in the house pumping up the crowd, and the drivers continued to give the fans what their money was worth Saturday night at the Southern New Mexico Speedway.

It was the Patrick Beach and Lloyd Turner show in the USRA Stock Cars. Those two went side by side on the final ten laps. Turner had a good run exiting the corners and Beach had a great car entering the corners. Those two shared the lead until Beach took the checkered flag first, but Turner would take the hardware as Beach was disqualified in tech. Turner told the fans in his interview that he may have took the trophy, but that race was won by Beach.

It was a caution fest in the USRA Modifieds, but all those cautions helped Jake Gallardo to come from 16th to the top five until he broke. Later, Jimmy Ray came to the front after starting 20th. Fito Gallardo, trying to win the championship, had no worries tonight as he led the way and Royal Jones had to beat him by a bunch. The best battle on the track was Rocko Gallardo and Dustin Smith for second. They beat and banged on each other but they raced each other hard. Rocko Gallardo got to finish second after starting 11th,n Smith with an impressive third place and Ray was fourth. Fito Gallardo won the 2014 track championship.
