Practice Saturday at Deer Creek Speedway

SPRING VALLEY, Minn.--The long off season finally ends today! Officials at Deer Creek Speedway have been hard at it since early this morning preparing for today's open practice session.

Earlier this week there was question as to when we'd actually get to see the first laps on the speedway as over two inches of rain and accumulating snow fell on the grounds. Those concerns quickly disappeared when officials woke this morning to bright skies and warmer temps.

"Today is more than just a practice session for the drivers," stated lead track prep official Ryan Queensland. "This is also a great opportunity to make sure the track is ready for the horsepower and high speeds of after a long hard winter."

Drivers are urged to get to the speedway early to fill out all the appropriate documents, this will diminish long lines on opening night.

Officials also ask that drivers wear their Raceceivers during practice for safety purposes.

The timing and scoring system will be up and running which will allow drivers and fans to keep track of lap times.

Today's practice session is open to all cars and classes.

Pit Gate Opens: 4:00
Practice Starts: 5:00
Practice Ends: 9:00

FREE in the grandstands!
Pit passes: $20 for adults - $15 for ages 2-12
