Georges-Barnett doubles up at Southern New Mexico Speedway

LAS CRUCES, N.M.--Mother Nature would cover the Southern New Mexico Speedway with dark gray clouds Saturday, but that didn't stop us from getting the 2015 racing season on the road.

Twenty two Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Cars checked it for a battle, and it was a battle! Lloyd Turner got offered an extra $200 to start in the back, and win. Well, it sure was close as Turner came to second and battled Las Lunas, N.M., racer Rick Boelter for the lead in the closing laps. Turner tried the bottom and the high side but couldn't catch Boelter.

Jimmy Ray has been unstoppable in the Revolution Reality USRA B-Mod division until tonight. Ray led the first five laps until Christy Georges-Barnett passed him for thr lead. She caught lapped traffic, but that didn't affect her at all. She led the final 20 laps and clean swept the weekend after her win in El Paso Friday.
