Family reunion at Southern New Mexico Speedway

LAS CRUCES, N.M.--One fast Southern New Mexico Speedway was prepped for the return of the USRA Modifieds and Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Cars Saturday night.

A driver who has had tons of bad luck in 2015 is trying to turn things around. Jamie Torres dominated in his heat race and the opening laps of the main. Patrick Beach came in hot on lap 4 and stole the lead, but Torres got it right back. They went door to door for the lead. Later, we are 12 laps in and Beach pulled off. Then Noah Hollingshead came around. He showed up to the party and also took the spotlight. Hollingshead would win the Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Car main event.

Talk about a caution fest, the USRA Modifieds would run smooth until the last 10 laps. Your top four were outstanding. It was Bumper Jones showing the way, with Jake Gallardo following after starting 11th. Fito Gallardo would run in third after starting 15th, and then Royal Jones fourth after starting 12th. The green flew and they went four wide for a family reunion, but a caution flew, then another caution and same after that. We finally had a little green flag run. With five to go, Royal Jones showed everyone the bottom and Bumper Jones was first to strike. Fito Gallardo had the bottom trying to get around Bumper Jones and just couldn't hang. Bumper Jones comes back to victory Lane to pick up his first victory of the 2015 season.
