SIOUX CENTER, Iowa— Elijah Zevenbergen (USRA Stock Cars) and Dakota Foster (USRA B-Mods) each put $1,000 in their pocket Thursday night as they captured the Holley Iron Man Series wins at the Sioux Speedway.

In the USRA Stock Car main event, Stefan Sybesma looked to have a good opportunity to grab his fourth career win at the Sioux Speedway by starting on the front row, but veteran racer Steve Jackson jumped out to the early lead as Todd Staley made contact with the wall in turn 1 on lap 1 but was able to continue on.

Justin Regnerus and Elijah Zevenbergen made gains early after starting in the fourth row, but it was Zevenbergen taking his car to the lead after starting seventh driving past Jackson.

As the race went on, Randy Brands found the high line to his liking and made his way up to third.

Contact between Brands and Jackson relegated Jackson to the tail of the field.

On the restart, Brands settled into second place while Ocheyedan, Iowa’s Zevenbergen took the win with Brands second.

Staley rebounded for third and 2010 USRA Stock Car National Champion Rich Gregoire held off 2007-08 USRA Stock Car National Champion and current Holley Iron Man Series points leader Tom Schmitt for the fourth spot.

Regnerus, Chad Overgaard, Sybesma, Sean Foster and Colby Klaassen rounded out the top 10

The USRA B-Mods hit the track as Holley Iron Man Series points leader Dakota Foster of Gardner, Kan., grabbed the early lead from the pole position with Miah Christensen close behind.

Christensen was able to steal the lead from Foster, but not for long as Foster fought back and went on to win the 20-lap main event.

South Dakota drivers Tyler Johnson, Miah Christensen and Dustin Kruse finished second, third and fourth, respectively, and Keagan Scott was the evening’s hard charger as he raced to a fifth-place finish after starting in the 18th spot (last) in the main event.

Nick Dieter, Thor Anderson, Marlin Kracht, Dave Kennedy and Brett Bumgardner completed the top 10.

On Friday, the Rapid Speedway will host the first of two Holley Iron Man Series events at the popular semi-banked 3/8-mile dirt oval located at the Lyons County Fairgrounds. USRA Stock Cars will be racing for $1,000 to win while the USRA B-Mods are battling for a $750 top prize.
