I-35 Speedway ready to race Saturday night

WINSTON, Mo.—Thank you, Mother Nature! Yes, I-35 Speedway got to race last Saturday night and they were able to get in two make-up features from May 16. Taking advantage of Mother Nature’s assistance there was a huge field of 124 cars and a grandstand full of race fans. The race fans definitely received their money’s worth with 19 heat races, two “B” features, nine feature events, and over 300 laps of racing. Mike Knight and Mike Johnson prepared a beautiful track which was able to provide racers a smooth track the entire evening.

This Saturday June 6, we hope Mother Nature again works with us. Scheduled to begin the night is the Non-Wing Sprint Car feature from May 16, followed by a night of racing with the USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars and USRA B Mods, plus Vintage Racers, E Mods, Grand Nationals and Hobby Stocks plus heats and another feature for the Non-Wing Sprint Cars. That is correct: for one entry fee you will receive two Non-Wing Sprint Car features.

Work has been ongoing all week at the track as new fresh paint has been added, along with a new banner, and the normal weekly track prep, weed eating and grass mowing. New rock has been added in areas where moisture had washed it away. All this to ensure the fans and drivers have a great facility they can take pride in.

Gates open at 4:30, hot laps at 6:15 and racing events starting at 7 p.m. Adults are $15, seniors 62 and over are $13, children ages 7-12 are $6 and younger than 7 are free. Come early and have dinner at the Trackside Bar & Grill which opens at 2 p.m. and overlooks turn 1.
