Vega, Rush conquer “light out” features at El Paso Speedway Park

EL PASO, Texas—All drivers in all classes provided a night of action from the first drop of green flag to the last wave of the checkered flag Friday at the El Paso Speedway Park.

USRA B-Mods started the night with 13 cars running 15 laps. In a close finish, Paddy Rush one by a car length over Nick Rivera with Mingo Jauregui coming home third.

The USRA Stock Cars never cease to disappoint and tonight was definitely a show-stopper. Following an opening-lap crash involving several cars, Todd Froats jumped into the lead but the race was red-flagged when a spinning car in turn 1 smacked the light pole and knocked out the lights in the corner. Back under green, Froats led until the final lap when Robert Vega made an outside move to take the lead and the win. Brent Dryer finished third and Jesus Chacon Jr. was fourth.
