Double features, spectacular fireworks on tap at I-35 Speedway

WINSTON, Mo.—The United States of America’s 239th birthday will be celebrated this Saturday, July 4, when the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Second Continental Congress. This day, Independence Day, is associated with fireworks, parades, barbeque, picnics and, since the mid-1900s, auto racing.

I-35 Speedway will continue this tradition on July 4 with fireworks, parade laps and auto racing. Race fans are welcome to come early and enjoy their own picnic.

As for racing, there will be lots of it, including double features for three classes.

The USRA B-Mods, USRA Stock Cars and the USRA Modifieds will begin the night with make-up races from May 23. For the regular program, the USRA classes will not run heat races, but instead will redraw based on points for their second feature. After all features are completed... fireworks!

What a great way to celebrate our great country and the day the we declared independence from Great Britain than having fun with racing and fireworks.

The I-35 Speedway is located at exit 64 off of Interstate 35. Gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps start at 6:15 and racing begins at 7 p.m. Adults are $12, seniors (62 and over) $10, children 7-12 are $6 and younger than 7 are free.
