Jason Cummins celebrates in victory lane after his second straight USRA Modified feature win on Friday, Aug. 21, at the Chateau Raceway in Lansing, Minn.

LANSING, Minn.—Another good field of race cars turned out at Chateau Raceway for a show presented by CBR Drilling of Dexter and Express Pressure Washers of Blooming Prairie.

The KIK Graphics & Printing USRA B-Mod feature got off to a wild start when outside polesitter Dustin Kruse spun in turn 2. This set off a wild scramble that had several cars collide. Kadden Kath took the lead with Blake Arndt right with him. Arndt took the lead on lap two while 10th starter Kylie Kath charged to fourth on lap 3.

Kath got by Mark Wytaske for third and, after a quick caution, got by younger brother Kadden Kath for second on lap 5. Another caution came out as A.J. Zvorak and Anthony Condit got together in turn 4. On the restart, Kylie Kath drove to the inside of Arndt in turn 3, got into Arndt and they spun which also collected Wytaske. Kath was sent to the tail and Arndt was restored as the race leader.

The race up front got going when Kadden Kath challenged Arndt for the lead. Kadden Kath slipped past on lap 7 and brought Jason Schlangen along for the ride into second. Kadden Kath led the rest of the way for his first win of the season. Schlangen was second with Arndt in third while Jayden Larson was fourth and Wytaske fifth.

Tommy Myer held the early advantage in the French’s Repair & Fabrication USRA Modified feature while Jason Cummins and Brandon Davis got by Darwyn Karau for second and third. Davis, Cummins and Myer went three wide for the lead with Cummins going to the front on lap 3. Davis and Myer had a terrific race for second when they went side-by-side on laps 3-7. Davis took over second on lap 8 and then tried to chase down Cummins.

Davis caught Cummins on lap 12 and the race was on for the lead. Davis was able to get up alongside Cummins, but was never able to wrestle the lead away. Cummins won his second in a row and fourth of the season. Davis was second with Myer in third while Damon Haslip and Karau rounded out the top 5.

Next Friday, Aug. 28, is the final night for track points. There is one show after that on Friday, Sept. 4, when the USMTS Modifieds invade the speedway for their annual Labor Day Weekend swing.
