Stock Car Shootout to cover four tracks in five days

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa -- One driver could walk away with as much as $7,000 in winnings this coming week as RL Promotions, LLC, presents five nights of racing at four tracks for the popular USRA-sanctioned Stock Car and Hobby Stock divisions. The series will begin on Wednesday, June 29, at the Carriker Ford Southern Iowa Speedway, then wind up on Sunday, July 3, at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa.

The best full-fendered aces in the Midwest will be on hand for the Independence Holiday weekend super-series, including $10,000 Great American Stock Challenge winner Brad Pinkerton, Zack VanderBeek, T.J. Criss, Steve Jackson, Kevin Bidne, Brian Mitrisin, Steve Landgrebe, Ron VerBeek, Jon Snyder, Rick Brown, Mark Elliott, Rick VanDusseldorp, Eric Flander, Josh Newell, Matt Greiner, Bobby Greiner Jr., Larry Portis, Tory Reicks, Ross McCombs, Jason Cook, Troy Alexander, Rodger Dresden, Jody Small, Tom Schmitt, Lynn Panos, Jason Schlangen, Kevin Hoeft, Jeff Dolphin, Jared Dirks, Chad Palmer and Jeff Vsetecka.

Extra money and bragging rights are also on the line for the Hobby Stocks at each of the five events.

The action starts at the Carriker Ford Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Wednesday, June 29, with a two-day show at the big half-mile clay oval. The Stock Cars will be racing for $500 to win on Wednesday, with a whopping $2,000 top prize awaiting the winner of the Thursday night, June 30, finale. Wednesday's show pays $75 to start the main event while each of Thursday's feature race starters get a minimum of $200. Hobby Stocks will be competing for $300 to win on Wednesday and $1,200 to win on Thursday.

On Friday, July 1, the door-slammer jammers travel to the 3/8-mile Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa, where a $1,200 first-place prize is on the line for the Stock Car feature winner. The feature also pays $100 to start. The Hobby Stock feature will pay $300 to win.

On Saturday, July 2, the action moves south of the Iowa border to Memphis, Mo., and the Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway sweeping 3/8-mile oval. The Stock Car feature will pay $1,000 to win and $100 to start. The Hobby Stocks will race for $300 to win.

The five-day series winds up on Sunday, July 3, at the 3/8-mile Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, with $1,200 on the line for the winner of the Stock Car finale, and another $100-to-start main event purse. The Hobby Stock feature winner gets $250.

In addition to the hefty purse available each night for the Stock Cars, a points fund for the five-race series has also been established, with the following payouts up for grabs:

1st place - $700

2nd place - $500

3rd place - $400

4th place - $300

5th place - $200

6th place - $175

7th place - $150

8th place - $125

9th place - $100

10th place - $100

If that wasn't enough, RL Promotions has also posted a multiple-win bonus for any driver winning three or more of the five Stock Car main events. A bonus of $200 on top of all other winnings will be paid to any driver that can win three races. The bonus climbs to $300 for winning four races, with $400 going to a driver who can sweep all five events.
