CRESCO, Iowa -- The USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series continued Sunday at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, with familiar faces gracing victory lane on Schroeder Racing Products Night. Kevin Pittman (USRA Modifieds), Tom Schmitt (USRA Stock Cars) and Justin Elsbernd (USRA Hobby Stocks) claimed the USRA-sanctioned feature wins, while Steve Dwyer (Hornets) and Jeremy Oakes (Street Stocks) were also victorious on the night.

In the USRA Modified main event, Kevin Pittman of Waterloo captured his fourth feature win of the season. Ron Konkel of Caledonia, Minn., took the runner-up spot to maintain the points lead. Darrin Walch of Postville, Shawn Ryan of Waterloo and Darin Duffy of Hazleton completed the top-5 finishers.

The USRA Stock Car feature race saw Tom Schmitt of Independence pad his points lead with his sixth triumph of the 2005 racing season. Brian Gjere of Mabel, Minn., was second, with Jason Schlangen of Cresco, Tom Hovey of Decorah and Lynn Panos of Protivin rounding out the top-5.

Justin Elsbernd of Des Moines charged from the 10th starting position to grab his fourth USRA Hobby Stock feature win of the season at Cresco. Steve Holthaus of Cresco, Kevin Donlan of Decorah, Dillon Anderson of Decorah and Ben Moudry of Protivin finished in the second- through fifth-place positions.

Jeremy Oakes of Spring Grove, Minn., captured his first Street Stock main event victory since opening night on April 17 by holding off Scott Spide of Ridgeway, and ending Spide's three-race win streak. Brandon Hare of Elma finished third, followed by Marc Banks of Waucoma in fourth and Nick Schwebach of Caledonia, Minn., in the fifth spot.

Steve Dwyer of LaCrosse, Wis., continued his domination of the Hornet division with seventh win in 11 starts at the Cresco speedplant. Ryan Happel of Holmen, Wis., finished second, while third went to Chris Gooder of Cresco. Fourth went to Danny Cole Jr. of Lansing, while Adam Ewing of Monona rounded out the top-5 at the finish line.

Next Sunday, July 17, fans are encouraged to arrive early to get the best seat possible as the O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series rolls into the Cresco Speedway for the much-anticipated first visit of the season by America's top Modified drivers. The Featherlite 40 will pay the winner a hefty $2,000 top prize, and many of the regular Cresco aces will be looking to knock off the touring invaders.

The USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series will continue in all classes except Modifieds, with track points up for grabs as the title chases head into the final summer stretch.
