MEMPHIS, Mo. -- Walker Motors Collision & Repair and Spilman Auto Parts presented the racing action at the Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway on Saturday, Aug. 6. The USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series was back in action with Stock Cars, B-Modifieds and Hobby Stocks, along with the Cruisers and Hornets racing in support of the O'Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series event. Going home with feature wins in their respective divisions were Jason Cook (USRA Stock Cars), Jack Evans Jr. (USRA B-Modifieds), Tony Becerra (USRA Hobby Stocks), Dave Hudson (Cruisers) and Joe Zrostlik (Hornets).

The 12-lap USRA Hobby Stock feature was the first to take to the Speedway, with Brian Clark and Mike Shelton leading the field to the drop of the green flag. Shelton took advantage of his starting spot to grab the lead on lap 1 with Clark in second. Shelton held the top spot until a restart on lap 4 when Tony Becerra jumped to Shelton's outside to take the lead. Becerra held off Shelton over the final eight laps to pick up his third win of the season at Memphis. Mark Holt charged from ninth to finish in third. Bob Lynch was fourth, with Justin Hamelton coming home in fifth. Shelton, Brandon Symmonds and Clark claimed wins in the heat races.

Dave Hudson and Michael St. Clair drew the front row for the 10-lap Cruiser feature, with Hudson jumping out front on lap 1. Hudson led all 10 laps to claim his third win of 2005 at Memphis. Jeremy Buss came from eighth to finish in second, Craig Spilker started seventh and finish in third and St. Clair held on for fourth, with Tony Schulte rounding out the top-5. Heat race winners were Buss and St.Clair.

Up next was the 10-lap Hornet feature with Brent Forest and Jim Hamilton leading the field to the green flag. Forest edged out Joe Zrostlik, Dennis and Tyler Schulte by inches to lead lap 1. Forest held the top spot for only one lap as Zrostlik slipped by for the top spot. Zrostlik, who made the three-hour haul to Memphis, went on to lead the final eight laps to pick up his first win of the season at the 3/8-mile oval. Dennis Schulte was second, Troy Schulte came from 12th to finish in third, Corrie Stott started 10th and finish fourth, with Forest coming home in fifth. Andrew Hustead and Zrostlik picked up the heat race wins.

The 15-lap USRA Stock Car feature saw Jason Cook take the pole, when scheduled pole-starter Mark White scratched. With Troy Alexander to his outside, Cook moved out front to lead lap 1 over Alexander and Matt Greiner. Cook went unchallenged to lead all 15 laps and claim his sixth win of 2005 at Memphis. Michael Browning came from sixth to finish in second, Alexander was third, Greiner was fourth, with Ryan Cook coming from ninth to round out the top-5. Heat race winners were Mark Holt and Alexander.

Wyatt Lantz and Logan Trueblood led the field to the start of the 15-lap USRA B-Modified feature, with Lantz moving out front on lap 1. Lantz held the top spot until a lap-12 restart turned out to be bad news for him. On the restart, Jack Evans Jr., who started eighth, jumped under Lantz to grab the top spot. Evans then held off Lantz on the final three laps to pick up his seventh win of the season at the Speedway. Jerry Poor was third, Jim Gillenwater was fourth, with Trueblood rounding out the top-5. Evans, Chris Larson and Trueblood claimed wins in the heat races.

Coming up next week at the Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway will be the second stop of the year for the MLRA Late Models presented by RaceMart. The first MLRA Late Model feature went non-stop with 30 Late Models signing in to do battle for the $2,500 top prize. The USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series will continue in the Modifieds, Stock Cars, B-Modifieds and Hobby Stocks, plus points will be awarded in the Cruisers.

Gates next week will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7. Grandstand admission will be $15 for adults, kids 6-12 are $5 and children under 5 are admitted FREE! Pit passes are $25.
