CRESCO, Iowa -- H & S Motors presented the Season Championships on Sunday at the Cresco Speedway, with three track champions being crowned in the USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series, along with the Street Stocks and Hornets.

Coming into Sunday night's program, Ron Konkel of Caledonia, Minn., needed to simply take the green flag to secure the 2005 track championship in the USRA Modified division. Not only did Konkel take the green flag in the 20-car main event, but he led all 20 laps to take his fourth checkered flag of the season and lock up the title. O'Reilly USMTS invader Kelly Shryock came up a few feet short of picking up the win, while Karl Fenske took third. Ryan York and Kerry Ledebuhr completed the top 5 finishers.

On the strength of his nine feature wins this season, Tom Schmitt of Independence had already wrapped up the 2005 Cresco Speedway track championship in the USRA Stock Cars before the night began. Schmitt would not get his tenth win on Sunday, however, as Protivin's Lynn Panos bagged his first win of the year in the season finale. Shay Curtin finished second, followed by Brian Gjere, Schmitt and Tory Reicks.

In USRA Hobby Stock action, Dillon Anderson of Decorah won his second feature in a row, coming from the eighth starting spot. Kevin Leiran finished second after starting on the pole, with Sam Wenthold taking third.

Trailing points leader Steve Holthaus by 40 points entering the night, Ben Moudry finished fourth in the main event. However, Holthaus stayed glued to Moudry's bumper and finished fifth to secure the 2005 USRA Hobby Stock track championship at his home track.

Carissa Wagner of Monona captured her second Street Stock feature win Sunday, racing from sixth on the starting grid, and holding off tenth-starting Curtis Engen of Monona for the win. Brandon Hare was third at the flagstand, with fourth going to Austin Curtin. Scott Splide, who had clinched the Street Stock track championship one week earlier, finished fifth.

In the Hornet main event, Alex Yohn of Clear Lake held off Paul Bakke for the win. Third place went to Adam Ewing, with Cresco's Chris Gooder finishing fourth. Steve Dwyer of La Crosse, Wis., who had clinched the Hornet track championship one week earlier, finished fifth.

Next Sunday, Sept. 4, Kabrick Distributing presents the IRA Outlaw Sprint Car Series at the Cresco Speedway. This annual event is one of the most thrilling races on the IRA schedule as the fire-breathing 410 sprint cars tackle the lightning-fast Cresco oval.
