KANSAS CITY, Kan.—It is only the second race of the season at Lakeside Speedway, but this Friday night, April 15, the action will have a little bit more meaning behind it as it will be Seeburg Mufflers Night.

At 7:30 p.m. when the first green flag drops, the racers will be looking to put on the best show possible. They will be doing it because they are competitors and they will also be doing it to honor “The Godfather” of Kansas City area dirt track racing, Clyde Ellis.

Ellis was one of the most influential people that dirt track racing has ever seen. Seeburg Mufflers was the business that he ran year-in and year-out alongside his wife, Joan. Lakeside might not be what it is today if not for the Ellis's and Seeburg Mufflers.

Racers and fans alike will remember just how important this combination was, and look for them to dig deeper to make this race night special on and off the track.

The USRA Modifieds, Holley USRA Stock Cars, Out-PAce USRA B-Mods, Grand Nationals and Factory Stocks will be joined this week by the Show-Me Vintage Racing Series.

It is a recipe for success.

Opening night was a week ago, and it held a lot of insight on what to look for this week.

In the USRA Modified division, Kerry Davis showed he has got what it takes to repeat as track champion. Davis blasted his way to win #1 on the season. Late in the race he had to hold off a charge by Darron Fuqua, but he still stays on top of the hill until he gets knocked off.

Trevor Hunt showed everyone why he is such a talent behind the wheel in the Holley USRA Stock Car class. Hunt got out in front of the feature last week and held on for a wire-to-wire victory on opening night. The competition is stiff in this division and you can beat that last year’s champ, Brett Heeter, isn’t going to go quietly without a fight.

The Out-Pace USRA B-Mod division might have something to worry about if Chad Clancy goes back on a run like he did in 2014. That season saw Clancy blast to numerous wins and a USRA B-Mod National Championship. Last week he looked every bit the part as he took home the feature win.

Friday night the pits open at 4:30 p.m., spectator gates open at 5 and racing begins at 7:30.

General admission seating is $12 for adults, $6 for kids ages 7-12 and children ages 6 and under get in for free. Military personnel, students and seniors over 62 get in for $10 with proper ID.

Terrace passes are $15 for adults, $8 for kids ages 7-12 and children ages 6 and under get in for free. Military personnel, students and seniors over 62 get in for $12 with proper ID.

Suites are $20 for adults or $10 for kids ages 12 and under.

Pit passes are $30 for ages 7 and older or $10 for 6 and under.
