Gallardo, Robinson get it done at Southern New Mexico Speedway

LAS CRUCES, N.M.—It was USRA Modified night at the Southern New Mexico Speedway on Saturday, and things got crazy with a lot of drivers checking in.

Holley USRA Stock Cars had a go at the track second tonight as Bryan Bagwell started on the pole. Martin Robinson stole the lead after a second-lap caution and drove it all the way to the win. Victor Colorbio was a challenge all night long in this one, but second place was the best he could do. Pete Vargas charged all the way from the back to get third after he was sent to the back for losing his hood.

Jake Gallardo drove like he was the only man on the track tonight, and it worked out perfectly but a few more laps and it would have been a different story as Royal Jones put on a late-race charge and made the bottom the place to be. Bumper Jones put on a heck of a fight to finish third behind his dad, and after winning Friday night, Fito Gallardo had to settle for fourth tonight.

If you missed tonight then don’t miss out next weekend as the Border International truck 305 Winged Sprint cars rejoin us and we go a full night of racing with the Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods. The gates open at 5:30 with racing starting at 7:45.
