Robinson, Hollingshead win at Southern New Mexico Speedway

LAS CRUCES, N.M.—Its race day at the Southern New Mexico Speedway and things are about to come alive with the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and Holley USRA Stock Cars making some dust in the desert.

The Out-Pace USRA B-Mods got things off to a good start tonight as they went 25 laps with a full field of 22 cars. The 82of Sherman Barnett would lead early but the x15 of Rick Hall was right on him. The 3H of Noah Hollingshead was on a move early as he would dart into second after only 3 laps. With 5 complete the first caution flew but it didn’t matter to the 82 because he would shoot out ahead again. With 18 to go the 82 would be pulling from the field but around all alone up front! The 3H now leads as the yellow flies for the 82 spinning. The 3H would look to get away but after a few more attempts at a restart the 9 of Jammin' Jimmy Ray would lawn dart his way into second over the 7C of Carney. The 07 of Donovan Flores put on a heater with 14 to go and would steal third and second as he charged down the backstretch. The 07 would start to close in but another yellow would bunch the field up. With 10 ion and 10 to go the 52tx of Paddy Rush was into 4th after starting 15th! With 9 to go there would be a caution and then another with 8 to go and after that it was time to cut some laps because the field just couldn’t keep it straight. Only 3 left on the ticker now and the 3H away again. Flores would go to work on his bumper but nothing would stick and coming to the checkered through turn 3 the 07 would spin all alone!! We stay green as the leader took the checkered and it was the 3H of Noah Hollingshead taking a big win tonight! The 93 of Gorham would ride it home into second after a strong drive through the pack with the 52tx Paddy Rush in third right there with him.

The 42 of Dryer would lead the opening lap in Holley USRA Stock Cars but the 21z of Martin Robinson wasn’t having that for long because into turn 3, there is the hole and there goes the 21z to the lead! After 5 of 15 the 21z was starting to pull from the 10 of John Diamond. With 7 to go the leaders where getting ahead but the first caution in this one would fly. This restart would show the 10 holding onto the bumper of the 21z a little better but Martin Robinson was not to be denied. As the checkered flag waved the 21z of Martin Robinson put on a fantastic show and took the boys to school to put the 21z back in victory lane for the 3rd time in a row. The 10 of John Diamond ran second most the night just never could quite get to the bumper of the 21z and second will have to do. The 11 of Cliff Everage with a great charge to finish out the podium.

Tonight was yet another great night of Racing at Southern New Mexico Speedway and if you missed it then don’t make the same mistake next weekend because we got something special in store for you. Fireworks that is! The best fireworks show in Southern New Mexico will be here next weekend as well as the best racing. Gates open at 5:30 with racing at 7:45 but you better be early because this show is gonna be epic.
