The $100,000 Road to Independence kicked off on Tuesday at the Frontier Speedway in Fort Dodge. On Friday the on-track fireworks move to the Fayette County Speedway in West Union, followed by a trip to the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah on Saturday, July 2.

The sixth and final night takes place on Sunday, July 3, at the Cresco Speedway—just minutes before the 240th anniversary of the thirteen colonies claiming their independence from England.

All six events will feature the Iron Man Series with Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods taking center stage. More than $100,000 in total prize money has been posted for the six events leading up to Independence Day.

At the West Union and Cresco events, Holley USRA Stock Cars will be racing for $750 to win while Out-Pace USRA B-Mod drivers get $600 to win. Saturday’s Hermie Halverson Memorial in Decorah pays $2,000 to win for Holley USRA Stock Cars and $1,200 to win Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.

Combined, that’s $8,250 to win the six Stock Car main events and $7,000 to top the B-Mod shows. What’s more, the payback in every event is spectacular from second place on back too.

“The USRA sanctioned tracks in Iowa are really stepping up to the plate and putting some serious cash on the line for Stock Car and B-Mod drivers,” said USRA President Todd Staley. “We love this sport, our drivers, fans and our sponsors, and those that gave all to create this nation and keep it free are what makes it possible. That’s why ‘United States’ is in the name of everything we do.

Staley, who formed the United States Modified Touring Series in 1999, founded the USRA in 2002 at the request of a handful of race track promoters who were fed up with the tyrannical sanctioning choices they had, and wanted to form “a more perfect union” with an organization that put the focus on the men and women who strap on the helmets every weekend, as well as giving race track operators the freedom to run their business as they see fit.

“On Monday we’ll celebrate the anniversary of our forefathers who had the resolve to break away from an oppressive regime in England, and in our own way this week is about Stock Car and B-Mod drivers breaking the chains of laughable payoffs and being treated like second-class citizens that they wrongly get from many of the weekly tracks they support in this region of the country. Next week’s shows should put a lot of extra dough in racers’ pockets for fireworks, hot dogs and cold drinks on the Fourth of July.”
