RL Promotions full speed ahead with five tracks in action this week

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa -- The biggest season so far for RL Promotions kicks off this week with action on tap at all five racing facilities operated by the Webster City, Iowa-based organization.

Racing under the banner of the United States Racing Association, drivers at all five dirt ovals will be competing for unmatched year-end track and national points funds as part of the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series.

This week's exhilarating laundry list of heavenly high-powered excitement begins on Wednesday, April 19, with round 2 of Wild Wednesdays at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars and USRA Hobby Stocks in action on the Half-Mile Mahaska County Monster. Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 7:15 and racing at 7:30. Tickets are $9 for adults, Juniors (13-18) & Seniors (62+) are $7, with kids 12 and under admitted FREE. The Southern Iowa Speedway is located 0.5 mile west of US 63 on SR 92, then 0.3 mile north on N. I St. (at the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds). Friday, April 21, will be a busy day in the State of Iowa with three tracks in motion.

The Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa, gets their points season underway on Friday with USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Modifieds, USRA Hobby Stocks and Hornets on the menu at the semi-banked 3/8-mile oval. Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 7:15 and racing at 7:30. Tickets are $9 for adults, Juniors (13-18) & Seniors (62+) are $7, with kids 12 and under admitted FREE. The Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway is located 1.3 miles south of US 18 on James St. (turns into Main Ave. and Diagonal and 1st), then 0.5 mile east on 220th Ave., then 0.1 mile north on Jewell Ave. (ESR). This Friday will also see the second week of racing at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway, featuring six classes in action with USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Hornets, along with the first appearance of the season by the Mid-America Winged 305 Sprints. Gates will open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 7:15 and racing at 7:30. Tickets are $10 for adults while kids (ages 6-12) are $4 and children 5 and under are admitted FREE. The Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway is located 1.0 mile west of Bloomfield on US 63/SR 2, then 0.8 mile north on CR J40 (at the Davis County Fairgrounds). Also on Friday, The Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, will hold an open practice from 6-9:30 p.m. to give drivers and crew members an opportunity to get their machines ready for the 2006 season opener on Sunday.

Saturday, April 22, will be the fourth attempt of the 2006 season for the drivers and fans at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Mo. Both the Inaugural Memphis Spring Nationals and the O'Reilly USMTS shows were rained out last month, as well as last Saturday's regular season opener. Weather permitting (and the forecast looks good), this Saturday will kick off the season with USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, Outlaw Hobbies and Hornets on tap at the 3/8-mile oval, along with the season's first appearance of the Super Late Models.

Gates will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:15 and racing to follow. Tickets are $10 for adults while Juniors & Seniors are $7, with kids (ages 6-12) $3. Children 5 and under are admitted FREE. The Pepsi Scotland County Speedway is located 1.0 mile west of Memphis on US 136 to SR 15, then east (at the Scotland County Fairgrounds). On Sunday, April 23, The lights are back on at the Cresco Speedway with another action-packed season planned at the 3/8-mile Howard County oval. This season will see the debut of the USRA B-Modifieds, which will be joined by the USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbies. Gates will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:15 and racing to follow. Tickets are $9 for adults while kids (ages 6-12) are $4 and children 5 and under are admitted FREE.
